CONTRIBUTOR GUIDELINES
 

Fly Angler

is a bi-annual publication dedicated to providing high quality literature on saltwater and native freshwater fly fishing. We encourage everyone to submit an article. Your audience seeks to be informed and to be entertained. As such, articles must be original, informative and absorbing. Articles with wider appeal will generally be preferred. Articles must be previously unpublished and technically correct.

Text
As a general rule of thumb, articles should be around 2,000 words in length, although articles longer articles are encouraged if that is the length needed to tell the story in an informative manner. If article text is send via email please send it as an attachment (do not send attachments over 1 MB in size). If it is send on a CD/DVD please save the article text as a word document. Please do not insert photographs into the text.

Photographs

Photographs must be previously unpublished and technically correct. Please provide a reasonable range of photographs with the article text (at least eight photos where possible, but more than eight is always welcome). All photographs should portray a strong environmental ethos. Only digital images are accepted. Digital images should be submitted on CD or DVD. Preferred format for images is in TIFF (8 or 16-bit). High resolution JPEGS will also be considered. RAW images are also acceptable. Resolution for photographs must be 300 dpi at the largest size possible. Product Reviews

Interesting reviews on tackle, products or services could be accepted and should be 200-500 words long. Content should reflect an understanding of the product rather than straight-out marketing information. Relevant photos should be included where possible.

Editing 

The editor reserves the right to make changes where deemed appropriate. Text may also be altered to avoid repetition, to rearrange the content or to clarify ambiguities. Major changes in context will be referred back to authors for approval.

Advertisers have been advised that every effort will be made to ensure that editorial content is free of blatant product or service promotion. Specific product naming in the text will only be permitted when absolutely justified in the particular context.

Time Frame

Each edition (and associated deadlines) will be published as follows:

November Issue - Deadline end of August 
May Issue          - Deadline end of February.

Payment

Payment of published material will be within six weeks of publication. Authors who have previously not published material will be required to complete a GST income declaration form.

Submitting Material

Express Post bags or envelopes (available at your local post office) are generally the most reliable method to send us your material. CDs containing digital images should be send in a dedicated CD cover.
